The Calgary Flames announced today they have signed centre Krys Kolanos to a two year, two-way contract and have recalled him from the Abbotsford Heat.

“Krys has been one of our best players in Abbotsford and has done everything we’ve asked of him to earn this opportunity,” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. “He has worked hard on being a responsible two-way player and we look forward to him contributing to our success at both ends of the ice.”

Kolanos, a native of Calgary, Alberta, has played 136 NHL games scoring 20 goals and adding 21 assists for 41 points and 92 penalty minutes with Phoenix, Edmonton, and Minnesota. After joining the Abbotsford Heat (AHL) on a professional try-out agreement, Krys went on to earn an AHL contract with the club. He leads the team in scoring netting 18 goals along with 22 assists for 40 points in 34 games. He was selected to represent the West in the AHL All-Star game this past weekend.

Contract Term: Two year/two-way contract with an AAV of $525,000

Everyone at AIR Training System is incredibly proud of Krys Kolanos to claw his way back to a position on a NHL club. It has been an evolving and intriguing process of training and nutritional work with Krys since he came online with AIR in 2005-2009 and now again in October of 2011. Krys returned to the AIR Training System programming with a highly evolved and researched nutrition program in January 2011 which was specifically designed as a nervous system remylineation plan using medicinal dosages of iodine, saturated fats, and thyroid harmonizing food choices. Later in October 2011, Krys came back into a complete AIR programming which included myofacsial sling work using Jiao Wu with Adam's movement genius, and complete soft tissue restructuring with his primary referral support therapist Dr. Hugo Galvez MD and huge volumes of self myofascial release using the latest the Travel Roller TR4.3.

Travel Roller To Appear On Dragons' Den!

Posted on : Jan 17th, 20:05

Power Couple Face The Heat On Dragons’ Den

Two fitness guru’s are about to face their toughest challenge yet. It has nothing to do
with lifting weights, it’s all about the roll. Former Canadian Bobsleigh athlete Adam
Wood and his wife, professional fitness model Arysta Bogner-Wood, will be pitching
their business idea on an upcoming Dragons’ Den episode, airing Wednesday,
January 18th, 2012 at 8pm on CBC Television.

Adam discovered a need for a portable and durable massage tool during his time with
Canada’s National Bobsleigh team. He wanted a product small enough to carry to
competitions, and strong enough to penetrate deep into an athlete’s muscle tissue.
Using his education in kinesiology, along with wife Arysta’s experience in fitness
modeling, the two created a prototype in the basement of their home. After many trials
with design, manufacturing, trademarks, patents, licensing and backing, the Travel
Roller hit the market.

Adam and Arysta have received a tremendous amount of support from the Canadian
fitness community as well as from fellow elite athletes. They would love to share their
story of the development of the Travel Roller. Please contact Arysta to set up an
interview or to sample the Travel Roller. More information on the product is available
at www.travelroller.com.

Milk and Cookies...If Santa eats them why cant we!?!

Posted on : Dec 19th 2011, 22:58

Merry Christmas Everyone!! From Adam & Arysta

A common misconception is that Milk and Cookies make you FAT!  Well if you use the highest quality ingredients it actually can be very healthy to eat!!

Arysta asked me to touch on the important physiological reasons for including unprocessed sugar and butter in one's diet. Simple work has been completed on this reality for hundreds and even thousands of years in the nourishing foods and recipes worldwide. Grandmothers who have raised powerful and healthy families have favored brown sugar (which contains the molasses from the sugar cane) and butter in there traditional delicious recipes and meals.

Please consider the healing and informational Nourishing Traditions cookbook from the online webcart if your questioning 'what' legendary recipes, and how to use butter and sugar properly.

Two important physiological realities of the incredible human body:

1. The human brain is selective to only run on glucose. The human blood brain barrier prevents free fatty acids or complete proteins from absorbing directly into the brain, and subsequently can only utilize glucose to operate its trillions of functions. Now one sugar is a lot different than another! One must only select whole unprocessed sugar cane, brown sugar, molasses, raw honey, maple syrup, etc. Please realize that I am not suggesting any sugar consumption over a tiny amount as related to things like these cookies or a little bit in your morning latte! The causality of sugar destroying ones health and causing all sorts of problems is related to excessive consumption and the use of processed types. Please consider this article from PhD researcher of the endocrine system and progesterone on sugar vs. starch:

2. The human liver and especially the human endocrine glands (pituitary, hypothalamus, pineal, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, gonads, adrenals) are heavily dependant on saturated fat and glucose to operate properly. If your diet is void or extremely low on saturated fat and whole sugar sources then the long term reality is a severe dysfunction of the endocrine system and the liver. Even though anyone could cite a thousand articles citing that my words are not true, please investigate who designed the research article or wrote the summary, and also who it is funded by: if the major food companies, pharmaceutical giants are near the information your reading (and they usually are) then profit maximization through excessive consumption and drugs is the true goal of the research! Yikes! Also please remember to ask yourself, to assess the health and work of the person advising you. If you feel like the person who is advising you or who wrote that 'great book'/blog is still 'searching', simply at a middle point in their health quest, then don't take the advice; in fact if you feel that from me, then just ignore this post! I have posted a few links that will get you pointed into the truthful direction. Best to you and your journeys!

“Back in the MI (myocardial infarction) free days before 1920, the fats were butter and lard and I think that we would all benefit from the kind of diet that we had at a time when no one had ever heard the word corn oil.”
- Dr. Dudley White speaking at an American Heart Association fund raiser in 1956.

(please note Lard is not an option today as the pigs are fed too many PUFA's in their diets and subsequently lard is no longer safe for human consumption... :-(
